2 divine encounters

In the last years, I look continuously around me in search of role models – personalitaties meant to inspire me, whom to emulate in a way or another.

A few months ago in my post called “The Ones” , I was mentioning several personalities from various areas of interest, whom I admire and respect for their consistent and valuable work.

Fortunately, in 2013 in my journeys I discovered 2 more personalities, from different times, origins and backgrounds. They still have something in common…Fortunately, my list becomes larger…

10 of April, Ubud, Bali – holiday time with some fabulous people. One of them, Eddy our guide in that days mentioned several times a place to visit: Yayasan Bumi Sehat (Healthy Mother Earth Foundation).

In that day, I met a lady, whom I characterize as charismatic, simple, sharing the light with the people around her. Robin Lim, is her name and she runs the Foundation in Bali.

Once I returned home, I “googled” her name trying to find what stands behind so much light, kindness and authenticity. Robin is a midwife and founder of Yayasan Bumi Sehat (Healthy Mother Earth Foundation) health clinics, which offer free prenatal care, birthing services and medical aid to anyone who needs it. She and her team have been working since 2003 to combat Indonesia’s high maternal and infant mortality rates, and the Bumi Sehat birth centers serve many at-risk mothers.

It seems that not only me noticed her special way of being; in 2011 CNN awarded her the prize “The Hero of the Year” for her dedication and tremendous work and support for low-income women – in Indonesia and other regions of the globe.

In essence, she taught me the lesson of contribution. Since then I am asking “How can I serve and contribute in the best possible way, with my talents, skills and intentions to make the world around a bit better?”

The second divine encounter happened in Romania, in August. While in Sinaia, I decided to revisit Peles Castle after more than a decade. Apart from that, there was a temporary exhibition called “Dream Houses of Queen Maria”, whom I was pleased to visit. The lady who guided us was sharing information about the queen, with a lot of passion and admiration in her voice, in her eyes. Once you enjoy your work, is noticeable… in her case too.

In the last room, she presented us a special box, with a special story. It’s a beautiful work of art, created for a wonderful person, with a great heart. It’s the box where the queen’s heart stayed for decades. The Queen Maria made the ultimate demonstration of love for the Romanian people by sharing the heart in the most direct, yet unusual way.

I was really touched by the story and especially by the lesson she’s giving us 75 years after her death. I left Peles Castle with a clear promise to discover more about this fabulous Lady who made me asking myself “What’s my ultimate proof of love, in the world I live?”

As a life coach I know that the quality of one’s life depends on the quality of questions he/she’s permanently asking him/herself. In my particular case these 2 questions about contribution and sharing love represent my “food for thought” in the next couple of weeks.

The people and experiences made us evolve. Journeys  made us relax but also reflect about things that really matters in a lifetime. Sometimes you have to travel far away, sometimes it’s enough to take the train for just 100-km distance

Distance or number of journeys are irrelevant. What really matters is what is changing deep inside you after any journey. People with such stories don’t judge, or give us advices. They just are and live their lives on the highest vibration: the vibration of love.

Their way of being made me start a more in-depth inner dialogue that might take a while. They just inspired me to think big and be myself. The more inspirational models around, the better… Just be present and watch out around you, today !
